Children without education are like rain evaporating before reaching the thirsty soil.

That is why BirdsConTour pulled reigns to organize an educational session at Irmis Kinderecke. Twenty four kids participated at this interactive session about bird conservation.

Various BirdsConTour projects, such as constructing a bird bath out of second hand items and the importance of cleaning the environment, were discussed in a child friendly manner.

The response of the children was overwhelming. At the end the children were asked what they are and all shouted out loud - “bird conservationists”!
On this day twenty four new registered Young Birders were awarded with a one penguin-rated Bird & Birder Friendly Award and their names are listed in article 71 of Birds in Words, www.birdscontour.blogspot.com.
The owner of Irmis Kinderecke, Mrs. Irmi Nolting, received a two penguin-rated Bird & Birder Friendly award for supporting the wild birds in her garden.
